Operation Education Reminder

The October 15th deadline will be coming soon and there are 48 kids who still need a sponsor. Please send this email to others in your family who might want to sponsor a child.

I have families who have decided instead of a present this year they want a child sponsored in honor of their relative or themselves.  That's a true sacrifice.

$35 is only giving up Pizza for 1 weekend of the NEXT year or 6 trips to Starbucks throughout the ENTIRE year.

We can waist that money really fast at any Walmart buying things we really don't need if we are not careful. It's a little sacrifice compared to what these families would have to give up.

This community is still only averaging $35 - $50 per month income. To pay for the school supplies and uniform they would have to go without food for the ENTIRE month for just one child.

Please consider making an investment into the lives of these kids. I have seen an amazing transformation over the years in the kids of Ceibita. They have a spark in their eye I didn't see when I first went there and I don't want that flame to burn out. All it takes is one spark from Jesus and a raging fire can burn within them. Help me keep that flame burning.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for these kids to go to school without help.

Will you bless a child this year?

Check out the photos of the kids at www.thepowerofoneministry.org/school/2013/index.htm

If you decide on a child all you have to do is;

1. Email me the child's name so I can remove them from the list.

2. Send your check for $35 to: The Power of One Ministry, 198 Mellwood Drive, Charlotte, NC. Make the check payable to Ambassadors To The Nations to receive a tax deduction. (if you missed previous emails about this and need more info, please call or email me.)

3. Pray for this child and their family. You can also send them notes, letters, birthday cards and small gifts through the school year if you so desire.

It's that easy...1, 2, 3.. and you can change a life forever.

God Bless,

Angie

Operation Education 2013

Can you believe how fast this year is going? I can't. It seems like only yesterday it was the beginning of the year. School has started here in the states which means the school year in Nicaragua is half way over. School starts around Valentines Day and ends on Black Friday for my kids in Ceibita.

During my August trip to Nicaragua i took my annual pictures of the kids and of a new community called Pala Grande. This year I have 102 kids who need a sponsor for school. Currently I have 55 who don't have anyone asking for them and last week I was blessed to get 26 of them sponsored during a week long camp meeting at my church.

For those of you who normally sponsor a child I have NOT posted your kids online. I am hoping will you want to sponsor again this year. If that is not the case, please let me know as soon as possible so I can add that child to the rest. I will email you personally to confirm or you can reply to this message letting me know of your plans.

For all of you who have never sponsored and would like to this is a great opportunity to show the love of Christ to families who have never experience His great love. The new kids in Pala Grande have never had an experience where total strangers just love on them.

I need to have these kids sponsored as soon as possible so I am setting the deadline to OCTOBER 15th. The prices are going up as we speak due to all the unrest in the world. Imports from other countries are costing more and more and those increases are passed onto the consumers.

This years price to sponsor is $35. This will include a new uniform, shoes, backpack and school supplies.

Can you imagine if your child never had the opportunity to learn how to read simply because they didn't have the RIGHT clothes to wear to school? It breaks my heart to think what life would be like if you could never read or write.

If you would like to sponsor a child please visit http://www.thepowerofoneministry.org/school/2013/

Once you have chosen a child you will need to email me that child's name at angie@thepowerofoneministry.org

In prior years you have sent your payment directly to The Power Of One Ministry. This year I will need you to do something different. Let me explain why.

Two weeks ago I received a letter from the IRS informing me that they have revoked my non-profit status temporarily. Apparently, I was suppose to submit a form that I didn't send in. My accountant was not aware of this form and neither was I. I now have to pay an $850 fine and it can take up to 90 days to correct it. Once it is submitted they will reinstate my status and all will be ok but until then I have to use another ministry  to accept any donations for those who want a tax deduction. Please follow these steps if you want to sponsor.

1. Pick out your child and send me an email with the child/children's names first.

2. Make your check payable to Ambassadors To The Nations (this is where I work and my boss has agreed to give you a tax deduction. If you do not care about the deduction you can send your check in my ministry name  but in order to get the tax deduction you MUST have Ambassadors name on the check.

3. Mail it to: The Power of One Ministry - 198 Mellwood Drive - Charlotte, NC 28214

I am sorry for any confusion this may cause and I hope that it will not change your mind. The enemy would love for me to lose supporters over this mess. I promise I have not done anything illegal. It was an honest mistake and will be corrected soon. Pray for the money to come in to pay the fine. That is all that is holding me up.

I am looking forward to seeing God's hand at work and His blessings to fall on all these children.

Thanks again for your support and God Bless ALL of you.

Operation Education Shoe Drive - Reminder

Haven't had a very big response so far so I'm sending this again in case you didn't see it the first time. Last December I sit down with the families in Ceibita and ask how I could pray for them. What were their every day struggles and desires.

Food, clothes and employment were the top three. Sounds like the US doesn't it.

I asked the kids how I could pray for them specifically and one little boy asked if I would pray for shoes. (Ms. Wanda, it was your little Eric that ask me).

Shoes? I found that to be an odd request so I asked "Why shoes, Eric?", he replied, every year in September all the kids who make good grades get to walk in the Independence Day parade but I never get to.. I proceeded to ask why and he informed me that all students have to have new shoes and a new uniform to participate and receive a sash to wear.

Of all the things a little boy could ask for... Toys, Candy and Money would have been what my kids would have asked for what about yours?

I told the parents that I would make them a deal and that if they would set aside enough money for the uniform I would help buy the new pair of shoes.

I'm sending out this request especially to all those who already sponsor a child asking if you would participate in the "Operation Education Shoe Drive".

The cost would be $15 per child. This would allow me to purchase a new pair for them and maybe a pair of new socks.

Even if you don't sponsor a child you can participate because not all sponsors will donate to this cause.

I need the money no later than JULY 15.

Please mail your check to me and mark the subject line, "Shoes". If you want to pay by Pal Pal you can but remember I don't receive all the money so add a little extra please. You can pay by going to the Donations Page.

If you can't afford the entire $15 and want to help bless a child please don't hesitate to send what you can.

This community is being blessed and loved through the Love of Christ that's in each of you.

Thanks in advance,

Angie

Matthew 25:40

"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'

Ladies & Gentlemen.. your help is needed

The Lord has really blessed me with ideas this trip to minister to different types of people. The children we will be playing lots of games and doing different dramas and other object lessons with to share the story of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus. Maybe an ice cream party is on the horizon..

A member of my church is hand making all the women in Ceibita a new outfit. A new outfit is something these woman never get. I measured all of them and she is making tailored skirts and shirts for them. I am so excited because I know they and they will be excited. What better way to share your new clothes than to have a Fashion Show.. I hope to have each lady dress their best and walk down the cat walk. We will decorate for them and help them to feel special in every way.

The men of this community are my hardiest to reach. They are so hard headed they don't want to listen to this crazy Gringa  (American Woman in Spanish) so I have a plan for them to hear the gospel and learn about God's love.

I just bought the baseball team from Ceibita brand new uniforms. Tailed uniforms with their names on the back and all. They will look so nice and feel so special walking around in those clothes. Not many have uniforms and the ones that do get a lot more respect. I am also taking them baseballs and gloves and hopefully some cleats. I am going to use the balls as a reward. Baseballs are $4 a piece there and every game the team has to have at least 2 to play. I am taking like 50 balls and will make the men win them by learning bible verses. If they want that ball bad enough they will study. :)

I need your help to pull all this off. Below is a list of items you may be able to help with;

1. Costume jewelry - as long as it is something you can wear I want it. Earrings, bracelet's and necklaces.

2. Spanish Bibles - you can get them for around $350 - $4 at Lifeway.

3. Baseball Cleats - Mens size 8 - 12. I need 25 pair. I only have two so far.

4. $70 - I would love to feed all the people with a bowl of ice cream. To feed 270 people cost about $60 - $70

5. Pinata $30 - I would like to bless other kids in another community with one and the cost is $8 for the pinata and $20 for the candy. (50 lbs )

6.Church roof - the church in Ceibita exists under a tree. The local church has raised money to build a small shelter type item to cover them when it rains. They need $200 to complete it. You can see the shelter a little in the attached picture.

7. Streamers and Balloons - got any left over balloons from a party you want to donate. I want to decorate nice for the Fashion show.

If you can help in any of these items in any way please let me know as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity to be a part of God's great plan. God created us all so He could have a relationship with us and it's my goal to share His love with others to help them also have that personal relationship and spend eternity in Heaven and not in Hell.

Will you join me? Will you be a part of the Great Commission?

Let me know by email if there is any way you can participate. The need is great.

God Bless,

Angie

Tickets Bought....

It's time again to visit my family in Nicaragua. I miss them tremendously and always get excited in anticipation of seeing them again. I will be there during the most important week of the year for Nicaraguans, Holy Week. Leigh Pack, Gwen Emmett and I will be leaving on the 30th and returning on the 7th.

We have several items on our agenda and making many other plans as time passes but our key goal is to use this time of the year to tell the greatest story every told.

Our plans are to paint a mural at the Children's Burn Hospital and minister to the families there. Here in the US we complain about medical care and services but trust me if you could see this burn unit you will never complain again. The walls are so dreary looking and the kids and family members have to stay there all day and night with no entertainment, no provided food and no phones. It's a really sad place to be sick.  I also hope to paint a wall or two with Chalkboard Paint so that the kids who can get out of bed can write and draw on the walls.

We will also we ministering to the families in Ceibita with games, skits, and stories about Jesus' resurrection.

I have been blessed with money to build two small houses this year but the problem is finding the people to build them for so we will be in a hunt for the right families for God to bless with a new home before raining season starts.

Have you seen the Courageous movie yet? May have movie night while we are there and share that movie. I found out today about another movie called Hope that other missionaries are showing that I may show in Ceibita. Pray for wisdom on which movie to show.

Please start now praying for our trip and for it's success. We will be visiting a new community where most have never heard the gospel. Looking forward to sharing God's love with them and telling them all about the HOPE they can have in Jesus.

There are two projects that I need help or sponsors for if anyone would be interested in sowing into them;

1. The pastor of Ceibita wants to build a shelter for the families to sit under when it rains for church. Cost is $200. It will be a huge blessing to them to be able to have church even when it is raining.

2. I am in need of Men's baseball cleats. Sizes 8 to 12. If you have any or know of anyone that has a pair please send them my way. If you would like to buy a pair feel free to contact me or purchase them and I'll pick them up.

3. Paint - I am in need of the Chalkboard Paint. I am not sure the price yet but I think it runs around $15 a quart at Lowes.

If you would like to sow into any of the projects please let me know as soon as possible what you can help with. Any help would be appreciated.

I also hope to bless all the school kids with letters from their sponsors which always brings a great joy to them.

Thanks to all for your prayers and continued support.

Please pray for my family as I leave Terry and the boys with Francis. She is doing so well and I am excited about the bonding that will happen with her and her dad while I am gone.
