Video Available & A Reminder!!!

After many days of fighting with the video software I have finally been able to create and upload a small video for those of you who sponsored a child and even if you didn't check out the video to see the joy in this community. The weekend I was there it was pouring down the rain so I had very little time. I took pictures of all the kids receiving their uniforms and once I got home found that I had lost all of them some how. I can honestly say I felt sick when I realized I didn't have them. The video is all I have to show that I did in fact purchase and deliver the much needed uniforms.

In the video the leader of the community speaks of kids getting a bachelors degree. That means graduating from high school.  This year we should have 3 students who will graduate. It is their dream to go on to college. I will be addressing that need later this year.

I am also mailing to you pictures of the kids tomorrow. Some of them were not available on picture day so I'm sorry if you do not receive a picture of all your kids. If you do not receive an envelope soon please let me know. Everyone who sponsors will be getting one.

Please let me know if you have problems with viewing the video. You can find it here.

MARCH 16th

Please send your child something. They want so bad to have a connection to you. I should be seeing them the first week of April and I really would like to take all of them a letter. I will at that time have them send a letter back to you.

Thanks as always for your blessings and please continue to pray for this ministry.

What's Coming Up..

Can you believe it's Valentines Day already? Where did January go? It's a huge blur to me considering just trying to juggle life, teaching Francis English, teaching Francis Math in Spanish and other major life changes has consumed my every minute of every day for the entire month. I have been challenged more than I can ever say this past month and by the time February got here I was sick as a dog..

So I hope that you can forgive me for being out of touch and not getting some things done that needed to be done.

The first thing I need to do is to get the videos from Operation Education online for you to see. I was not able to get a video for each of you who sponsored a child. We are at 96 kids now that it just takes too long. I do however have a video from the Pastor, the Leader of the community and from all the kids for you to view. I will get that posted for your viewing very soon.

I also have some letters from different kids that will be mailed out soon. I am sorry that not all kids were willing to write letters. We are working on that and this year will see an improvement on that. It's so hard to get them strictly due to time.

This past trip I asked the parents what could I bring them from the US and I was very shocked at their answers. They all wanted a picture and a letter from their kids sponsors. They are very grateful for your help and want to make you a part of their family, therefore, I am asking each of you that sponsored a child this year to please send me a picture of your family (any picture will do) and a letter . I will need you to translate it into Spanish for them. You can do this online at www.translate.google.com. Here are some rules to follow:

1. Do not use words with apostrophes, ie. isn't, don't  or commas for the use of "and". Type them out completely even if its not proper English.

2. Use simple works as if you are writing to an elementary child.

3. Keep it brief and to the point. Do not elaborate on things. Stick to the topic.

4. If you are going to transpose the translation onto paper make sure it looks the EXACT same as you see it on Google.

5. After Google translates what you wrote, copy the translated text and translate it into English to see if it makes since. Google is not perfect but it is pretty good. Let me know if you need any help. I'll be happy to assist you if you can't get it done. You can even call me and I'll type it over the phone for you if I need to.

5. Do not make any promises to your child(ren) like, I will always sponsor you or I hope to come and see you one day, or Is there anything you need?. These are all questions that they take as commitments.

Here is an example of what you can write but feel free to say anything you desire.

Hi, I am so happy to be able to bless you so you can attend school. We have 4 children in our family. Jordon is 21 and works in a coffee shop. Logan is 15 and Jacob is 12 and Francis is 9. All of them are attending school. We live in Charlotte, North Carloina . It is very cold here right now which I am sure is very different that where you live. How is school going this year? What grade are you in? Do you like your classes? Do you like your teacher? Tell me more about your family and the things you like to do. How can we pray for you?  We will be praying that you and your family are blessed by God and that he provides all your needs each and every day. Looking forward to getting a letter from you soon. Love , Terry and Angie Honeycutt.

Short and sweet is all you need to do. It does not matter how long it is or how short it is just as long as they have something.

As of now I am planning to return to Nicaragua the week before Easter. The kids are out of school that week. I won't be in Ceibita long that week because my team and I will be ministering at a burn hospital in Managua for several days so I won't be soliciting letters for you during this trip. I will however be returning on August 5th with another team and will collect those letters for you at that time.

We will also be doing a Shoe project. Each of the parents are asking for two pairs of shoes a year because the kids are growing out of the shoes so fast. When we go in March we will be collecting shoe sizes and in August we will be distributing them. I am asking you to pray about supporting this project for your kids. The shoes will cost $12 a pair.

Thanks so much for being so patient with me while we are learning to be new parents, dealing with life changes and language barriers not to mention every day life.

Let me know if you have any questions.

The deadline for your letters is March 16th.

God Bless,

Angie

Address to send the letters:

Tax Receipts

It's that time of the year again. Hard to believe a year has gone by so fast. I can save over $50 by not sending out gift receipts automatically. Not everyone files their taxes with donations included so I would rather give receipts to those who want them than to spend ministry money on sending them out to those who don't want them.

The law says I have to send out to anyone who spent $250 or more in a year but I do not have to send out to less then $250 but I feel it is my responsibility to provide a receipt to you if you need one no matter the amount.

Please respond to this email if you would like one for this past year. I will email a receipt to you and you can print it off or I will mail you one so please let me know how you would prefer to get it.

Thanks to everyone who participated this year in the various projects. Without you peoples lives would not have been changed this year.

God Bless all of you.

Never Ending Journey Part 13

Lot's have happen since I last wrote. Its been hard to update everyone when so many things are changing. As of yesterday I am proud to say I am the legal mother of Francis Grace Honeycutt.

I have in hand all the documents need to start the final process of coming home.

Today we ordered her Nicaraguan Passport which will be ready on Monday morning and then we are off to see the "official" doctor for a health report and on Tuesday morning we will go to the American Embassy where we will apply for her American Visa which we should have in hand within the day or the next and most importantly on Wednesday I will cook a nice meal for all here who have blessed me with their time, talents, and support. Finally we will board a plan home at 8:30 Thursday morning and hopefully we will be arriving Charlotte at 6:35 that evening.

I can't hardly believe in another week I will have been here 4 months. I am so blessed to have seen the hand of God literally reach out and touch me. He sent me angels (my neighbor and her friends) to take care of me and transport me around especially to church. He even cared about the small things and sent me to a hairdresser that cut my hair and didn't chop my head off and a sweet friend to give me a pedi. :)

God allowed me to learn so much from Him while I was here. He showed me that when you are obedient and you do what He tells you no matter what others say to you or how they look at you or even when your best of friends try to convince you to give up, He will reward your faithfulness.

This has truly been an amazing walk of faith. It's been 4 long years, 4 children later and there is no doubt in my mind we are right where God wanted us to be. I tried to give up so many times and today I am so grateful I didn't.

I would love to share all the great stories of this journey but I'd be writing you a book. Would love to share Francis with you as well as she is a beautiful young lady inside and out. I have watched God transform her from a ruff, hurt, angry little girl into a sweet, lovable, charming princess. It has not been a bed of roses for me here I promise you but what it has been was wonderful.

This journey is not over until I get her home and then a new one will start so don't stop praying.

Thanks again for all your prayers, financial support, moral support and love for a child you don't even know.

Never Ending Journey Part 13

It's been a while since I have updated anyone on what is going on with the adoption mainly because there have been little to no progress until this week. On Friday of last week the council that votes and agrees I can adopt Francis finally met and signed the resolution for us to officially adopt her. This is the first of many big hurdles we had to jump over. I am excited to say they voted in our favor and the next hurdle is the court systems of Nicaragua.

On this past Monday our attorney presented our signed resolution to a judge who then has to get the approval from the Attorney General's office that confirms all documents are in order and the child has been declared abandon. Once he has that proof in hand he gives his approval to the judge to change her name and grant her to us. Once that is completed we all go to court, Francis, myself, the DSS, and my lawyer and the judge makes it official that Francis Meza is now Francis Grace Honeycutt.

We are waiting on the Attorney Generals signature which he has 15 days to sign but usually does in one to two days. He has taken 4 days already..

Once that happens and we go to court and we are jumping the last 3 hurdles. We have to then go to the Nicaragua Embassy and get her a passport and then take her to see a special doctor and then to the US Embassy for her Visa. Once those are done I can fly home.

I am 7 to 12 days away from coming home assuming the AG does not take his entire 15 days.

Please join us in prayer that we get a good report on Friday (today) because next week the Embassy is closed on Monday and on Friday which could delay things even longer.

November is our businesses busiest month and I am not there to work which causes great hardship on our family. Please pray there will be no interruptions and this will not be dragged out any longer than God wants it. We are trusting him for our business income and not trusting ourselves but it makes things even longer waiting and waiting and waiting with your fate in the hands of someone else. I am trusting God to intervene if necessary.

Can you believe I have been here already for 15 weeks (3 1/2 months). I am ready to come home. I miss my children so much and my husband. I praise God for technology and the ability to use Skype and see them every day. That has been the only thing that has kept me from falling apart.

Francis is also very ready to come home. She is so excited to leave and misses her daddy a bunch. Terry came last week to sign over his rights to our lawyer and being with him for 3 days has caused her to miss him even more. It's awesome to see the true desire in her heart to be with her family, even her brothers.

Please pray for our family as this journey goes from one phase to another. It has not been a bed of roses everyday here for us and it won't be at home but we were called to do this and when you are called to do something God will provide a way for it to get done. This journey is a true testimony of his goodness and his provision. If you find yourself wondering how you are going to do something greater than you can ever imagine let me encourage you to take the "I" or "You" out of it and put only the word "GOD" in it's place. We can do nothing on our own but we can do all things through Christ.

God Bless all of you and thank you for your prayers. Please continue to lift us up. I hope the next email you get is from me saying I'm on my way home. What a day that will be.. :)
