Missions Weekend....

Your prayers are needed as I walk through some awesome doors God has opened for me. First, on Friday night my friend Selina is hosting a "Nicaragua Missions Night" at her home. We will have many ministry needs placed on tables for people to view. You can donate toward any or all. We will have a booth for Bibles, socks and underwear for the orphanage, a Wedding License, Bouquet and Veil and much more.. I will also be selling my jewelry at this event and trying to get the kids from Operation Education sponsored. It will be a great opportunity and I am blessed to have a friend who is willing to do this for the ministry.

Second, on Sunday in Stowe Park in Belmont from 10:00 - 7:00 there will be an event for many ministries in the area. This event will have inflatables for the kids, live music, games, clowns and much more all FOR FREE and in the same area we will be displaying our ministry needs. This could open a much larger door than I can imagine. Pray for many people to come... Exposure is key...

Third, I will be meeting with my team on Sunday after church as we prepare for the December trip. I am so excited to have this group going with me. Each of them have a talent and a gift that God is going to use in a mighty way when we are in Nicaragau.

Fourth, Sunday night I will be speaking in front of a youth group about missions and the importance of getting involved and blessing others. I hope I can stir up the desire to be focused on others than on themselves. Pray for opened minds...

As you can see I am busy with God's work and busy preparing for what He as in store for us in Nicaragua in December.

There are many prayers I need and if I wrote them all down you would be reading a book so please let them all up with Thanks.. Be in prayer with me with gratitude and thanksgiving as I know God has ordained these events for His glory and I know anything He does is successful....

I am so excited to see what God is about to do. I still have 22 kids to get sponsored and I know they will all be gone soon as I have plenty of jewelry that needs owners so I can't wait to meet all the people who will be purchasing them..

2009 First Day of School

On Wednesday I will travel to Darlington, SC and speak at Mechanicsville Baptist Church. If you recall last year that Pastor of this church was the man I met in Nicaragua. One of God's Divine Appointments.

He is a blessing to this ministry and has invited me back this year to share Operation Education with his congregation.

Please pray for a fruitful night. I still have 50 kids that need a sponsor.

Please pray for safety as I travel alone and pray for open doors.

Operation Education

Let me introduce you to Lory Ortiz. He is 10 years old and is not currently enrolled in school. Next year he will attend the 2nd grade. He moved into the community after last years kids were sponsored. He is a hard worker and helps provide for his family when asked. He is a sweet boy and loves to play soccer.

Would you be willing to send him to school next year for $25.

I am in the final month of finding sponsors for my kids in Ceibita. I need to have all the kids sponsored by November 1st or the prices go up to $35 per child and I do not want to pay that amount.

If you would like to sponsor Lory or another child please let me know as soon as possible. I am trusting God for every child to receive a uniform and school supplies for this next school year. Please pray in agreement with me.

He is wearing a shirt donated by Castanea Presbyterians soccer program. Thanks to Lisa and Cindy for donating great soccer uniforms to these kids last year. You guys make dreams come true for these boys.. :)

Prayer Needs...

Can you believe tomorrow is the first day of Fall.. Where did this year go? It is always this time of the year I find myself overwhelmed with things going on. Good things of course.

I wanted to let everyone know what my current needs are so you can be praying for me and if God leads you to you can join me in meeting those needs.

1. Please pray for Oscar's mom. This past week made a year since he passed. I was so busy that week I almost forgot. Kind of glad I did. That situation aged me by 10 years. It was one of the hardiest times in my life so far. I miss him and every time I go to Nicaragua I miss him more.

2. School Kids - I am still in need of sponsors for the kids. I have doubled the number of kids this year making it harder for me. If you can't sponsor a child or do not feel led to, SHARE it with others. Together we can change a life. It does not have to take just one of us. I checked on the kids from last year and with only 2 months of school left they are all making high grades. The teachers brag on them because they work so hard. 3. Socks - I need girls knee-high white socks and I can't find any. If you see any at a store EMAIL me. I will need about 45 pairs and don't want to buy them in Nicaragua unless I have to. I would prefer a poly type and not cotton.

4. School supplies - I am still collecting school supplies and need just a few more packs of pencils, colored pencils, sharpeners and erasers to give every student. The cost of the uniforms has gone up drastically so I don't have much in the budget to purchase any extras so any help you can send toward these supplies would be greatly appreciated.

5. December trip - I have a huge trip planned. We are having a marriage seminar for over 30 couples (22 are signed up now and we have not even announced it yet) and a wedding for at least 50 of them. Please pray we are able to get the cost down so we can marry more couples. Please pray for my friends who will be going and facilitating the seminar and for the rest of us who will be putting this massive wedding together.

6. Jewelry Sale - I am having another jewelry sale at the NorthWest Fest on October 2nd. Please pray it is successful as I need to raise a lot of money to pay for the wedding stuff and Christmas presents for the orphanage.

New Projects for December Trip

It seems like I never stop right..? Well I don't. :) God is always giving me ideas to work on for my next trip.

I will be going in December to get the kids ready for school and to meet a new ministry that God has introduced me to as well as if all goes as planned I will be hosting a wedding for 20 - 30 couples. Yes a wedding.. I'm so excited as he is putting it all together. I do not feel it is right to lead people to the Lord but allow them to live in sin. It cost about $30 per couple to get married so Nicaraguans choose to live together since they can not afford the fees. To them it is ok, it is their customs and traditions. I tell them it's not God's way so let's have a wedding and make it legal.

I'll have more details coming.

I will be collecting the following items: Please keep me in mind if you have any of these things.

Mens white dress shirts, - size M and L Mens dress pants - sizes 32x30 and 34x30 (maybe some 32 long also) Women's white or cream short sleeve shirts -All sizes, S - XL -  something nice like what would be worn with a dress jacket for church. (The women all wear skirts so the shirt would need to be appropriate to wear with it.)

I'll need all these items by mid November so please keep me in mind if you have any. This is a special event so I do not want any clothes that look worn please.

Additional items I am currently collecting. (New & Used) Used must be slightly worn.

Girls knee high socks - sizes for  age 5 - Adult - prefer to be the thinner kid, no athletic type socks Boys black or white socks - sizes for age 5 - Adult - ankle to knee high, church style socks, cotton is fine, no no-show socks please.

If you see these type socks on sale please let me know. I need 44 pairs for the boys and 41 pairs for the girls. Any help you can offer would be great.

If anyone is interested in joining me for the December trip please let me know soon. I have several people that are praying about going and would love to include you.

As you see I have a lot planned and need a lot of things. I am so amazed by how God provides for each of these trips. These are his ideas not mine. I am not a wedding person, but through Him I can do all things..

Please pray for me as I plan these events and raise money for all the kids that need a sponsor. If you have not had time to check out the kids please do by clicking here. If you can't sponsor one, pray for one.. Pray others will step up and be a blessing to these wonderful kids.
