Operation Education 2014 Deadline Approaches

October 15th is the deadline I set to have the kids sponsored by then but it soon approaches and I still have 31 kids that need a sponsor. I lost sponsors of over 25 kids this year which has made it a little hard for me to recoup but I trust God will send others to take their places.

Would you be willing to share this email with your friends? With your Bible Study group, Sunday School group?

It will be really hard for me to give out uniforms to 73 kids and not the others.

Please pray with me that doors will open and other people will help sponsor one of these wonderful kids.

For those of you who have chosen to sponsor this year please remember the money is due by October 15th. I will need to wire the money for the uniforms the next day.

It's only .10 cents a day... We waist that much..

Thanks in advance for sharing this information with your friends.

It's that time again for sponsors to choose their child for the 2014 school year. I have currently 46 kids that need a sponsor.

The cost is only $35. With that money I will purchase a full school uniform, shoes, socks and a backpack. Additionally students will receive a pack of crayons, pencils, sharpener, and erasers.

Only one of every three children in Nicaragua get to go to school. Public school is free but the uniforms are not. This cost is a months wages for most of the families in La Ceibita. It's impossible for them to send their kids to school each year without our support.

Please check out this website page and choose a child today.

Money is due to me by October 15th and each child will receive their school packs in December.

Operation Education 2014

I just got home from my 31st trip to Nicaragua. Can't believe I have been so blessed to go and minister in this country. I am so humbled by God's blessings in my life. I am so honored He allows me to do this. I am writing to you to talk about Operation Education 2014.

I just took all the pictures of the kids and will be working to get them processed and online for sponsoring but there are some things I need to let you know about.

1. Most of you know I have been fighting with the IRS to reinstate my tax exempt status. I have done everything they have asked and they assure me there won't be any problems but my paperwork is sitting in a stack that is now behind by a year and half. They are just now working on applications that were sent in the middle of 2011. Can you believe they are that far behind? Therefore, until further notice I will not be able to give any tax credit. I understand that can be an issue for some of you and understand if you choose not to sponsor a child because of it. I would hope that blessing these children would be more important than the $35 write off but will truly understand if you can't. Every penny counts for lots of us. With that said all checks will need to be made out to me personally, not to The Power of One. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience. Please join me in prayer that this gets corrected ASAP.

2. If you plan on sponsoring the same child from last year I will need to know if you have not told me already. Otherwise I will put your child up to be sponsored. I will need to know ASAP and no later than August 23rd. Some of you I will be contacting personally  to let you know that your child has left the program. I had to make some changes and that will affect several of you.

3. School Supplies - it's that time of year again. I am in need of  supplies for the kids. Each year the $35 to sponsor only covers the uniform and shoes and backpack. I have been paying out of my own pocket all the school supplies. I am hoping that this year maybe those who live near me would pitch in and help me. I am in need of the following items: (these are the only items I collect)

- Pencils - Crayons - Colored Pencils - Pencil Sharpeners - Erasers - small or large are fine - Ball Point Pens

Since the school supplies are on sale (Walmart has crayons for .25 cents right now) I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me buy a few these items. Maybe you can add a few extra packs of things when you buy your school supplies. Let me know you have them and I'll make arrangements to get them from you. I need the school supplies by the end of September.

4. If you don't currently sponsor a child and would like to please contact me. It's a one time fee of $35 and it allows that child to attend school for the entire year. Very few of my kids drop out through out the year. All of them who attended last year passed their grade which is very rare. We even were noticed by the head of the school system in Somotillo.

As soon as I have the pictures ready I will be posting more about my trip. God allowed me to share the Gospel with all the men in the community and we got to bless lots of people with new shoes and food. Pictures and more details to come.

God Bless all of you,

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Angie

Preparing to Leave

On Thursday I will leave for Nicaragua with 3 other people from Charlotte and I will meet 30 more people in Managua. I am blessed to work for Ambassadors To The Nations who have been working in Nicaragua since 1992. It is an honor to not only serve the Lord with missions on my own but to partner with such a great organization and have that as my JOB every day also.

On the 13th I will leave then and meet Gwen Emmett at the airport and together we will head to Somotillo to bless a lot of people.

In January I sent tons of boxes by container to bless the kids and young adults. I can't wait to visit each home and hand them out. This will be the first time they will receive care boxes from the US. No every family was able to participate but through the blessings of Ambassadors every child will get a nice box.

I need the prayer warriors of this group to start praying now for me and this trip. My health is still an issue and the ability to eat healthy in Nicaragua is not convenient. Pray I find solutions to accommodate my strict diet. Additionally, pray for good weather, a unity among out teams and that the hearts of all the people we will minister to are open and ready to hear the Good News. Please also pray for my family as I am leaving Terry for 13 days with 3 kids and a business to run. I am so grateful I have a wonderful supportive husband.

I am excited to say I am only $300 short of being able to purchase the motorcycle for Pastor Arturo and I have raised enough money to purchase more than 30 chairs for the church and hopefully a podium for Pastor Arturo's bible. I just love blessing this man of God who sacrifices so much to bless my little community.

If you would still like to contribute toward any of the needs I sent out before there is still time. Just let me know.

I appreciate the prayers and I can't wait to give you a great report on what God's plans turn out to be.

Blessings,

Angie

December Trip Updated - Reposted

I am having blog problems today so if you have gotten this multiple times I am very sorry. Finally I found time to update you on my December trip but first I have to apologize that I don't have a lot of  pictures for you. A few weeks ago while I was working on a presentation for my church my hard drive crashed and I lost all my Nicaragua pictures from 2009 until now. I was and am devastated at this lost. The drive is currently at a repair place and they are estimating $510 to fix it. If they can it will be worth every dime but for now I only know they looking at it.

The trip in December was awesome as usual. My Pastors wife and I blessed a lot of kids and a lot of family members.

I don't have pictures of all the kids receiving their food and uniforms but I have some. In the pictures you will see some of the kids with two large black bags. One bag is their uniforms, school supplies and shoes and the other bag is food.  Click here to view those pictures.

We also blessed both communities with their favorite foods. Ceibita received a rice dish that comes with chicken in it and some vegetables and Pala Grande wanted fried chicken, rice and salad. We played games with both communities and just enjoyed the day. Click here to view those pictures.

One of the best moments for me was to drive up and see the first structure of a church. Someone purchased the land for the community and the local church paid for the metal structure to be built. Now all we need are the walls, doors and windows. We are trusting God for resources to purchase the much needed materials to complete this church. It will truly be a dream come true for me. Here's a picture of the structure. img_05511

Most of you will remember my driver Antonio who I have been trying to bless with a new house for some time now. He and his brother are building his house to cut the labor cost down which is a huge blessing. I need to raise an additional 2,000 to finish the house and $800 of that for him to be able to move in now.  I am thanking God now that He will provide soon for the remaining amount. Click here to view those pictures. The pig is his neighbor who thinks he lives at the front of his house.

If you would like to see how people live in this community check out the pictures of one of the houses in Ceibita. This is a typical house. It's a mud house made from a little mud, a little cement and straw. It attacks every spider you can imagine and is like living in a cellar. Rainy season is horrible for them because it's moldy and stinks when the mud gets wet not to mention how the structure gets weaker and weaker over time. The family who owns the second house you will see will be getting a new home soon thanks to my Pastor and his wife who are the sponsors of the two kids who live in it. We are so blessed to live in homes that don't leak rivers and spiders don't eat insects off the wall all day and night. Click here to view those pictures.

On a current note:

Two weeks ago I was blessed to put tons of things on a container and send it to Nicaragua. Tickets are purchased and in March I will go and see my kids again. This trip I will be having a birthday party for all the kids with cake, decorations, pinata's, games and music and most important presents for every child.  This will be the first party any of these kids have ever had. I can't wait to make it special for them. In addition to gifts for the kids I will be able to bless the orphanage with a new freezer and many great things to help them.  Looking forward to ministering to many people in March.

I can't believe it's already February 2013. I can't wait to see what God has planned for this year. Every year He continues to amaze me.

Prayer Needs: There are some specific things I need right now. Thank you in advance for seeking God on our behalf.

1. I have several students who want to go to college that I still don't have sponsors for.

2. Provision to finish Antonio's House.

3. Provision to finish the church walls

4. $1600 to buy Pastor Arturo a motorcycle.

5. Partners willing to sow on a monthly basis and churches I can speak at

As always thanks to each of you for sowing into my life this past year and I know God has great plans for 2013.
