2013.. A New Year for God to show off

In a few hours it will be 2013. What happen to 2012? This year was a really hard year for my family. I won't lie I am glad to see it gone. God blessed us in many ways and I know 2013 will just get better. I pray it is your best year ever..

I am working on pictures today and tomorrow and hope to have them updated on my site for you to see how the December trip went.

The kids has a great time receiving their school packages and their gifts for Christmas. I have gotten word from the orphanage that they too were very happy with their new clothes, shoes and toys for Christmas.

The Lord has opened a door for me to send items to Nicaragua on a container this January and I am still in need of some items. Could you please check your "junk" and see if they can become my "treasures". If so I need them by January 11th and no a day later. (Have to get things loaded that weekend).

1. Stainless Steel pots and pans for the Orphanage.

2. Reel Lawn movers, the kind you push and have no engine. (Thanks Alan for the one I have already)

3. Adult Small or Medium boys/men's shirts (new or very very close to new) (Can no longer send anything used through a container)

4. Plastic store containers with lids. (any sizes)

5.  Spanish Bibles

6.  Tarps ( the blue kind) large sizes preferred

7. Kids Rated G or PG Spanish DVD movies (must have Spanish Language written on them, not subtitles) new or used

8. Small Deep Freezer.

9. 2 Digital Cameras

10. Money to buy these things. (If you would like to buy any of these things just contact me for more info)

If you have any of these items and are willing to donate them just let me know and we will work on getting together to get them.

For all the Operation Education parents if you are planning on sending your child a care package I need it by January 11th. I have letters I am working on sending out to you from your kids. Please send one back to them if possible but make sure it is translated in Spanish. You can use Google Translate.

Thanks so much for all the prayers and support in 2012. We accomplished a lot for the Kingdom of God you should be proud, I know God is. Can't wait to see what He is going to do this year...

More to come..

December 2012 Trip

We have been in Nicaragua for three days already.. Time is going so fast this trip. We visited the community of Ceibita today and blessed the community with a traditional meal. It will be for most the only meat they will get until I feed them again.

We also played some fun games with the kids and even had a couple of clowns tell them an awesome story.

I have sponsored several baseball teams in the years and I have never been here when one is playing until today.  They even won their game with a tie breaking slide into home for the finish. It was awesome!!!!

Tomorrow we will distribute the Operation Education kids with their uniforms and back packs along with school supplies. We will also be giving out 100 pair of new shoes, t-shirts, and candy.

On Tuesday we will bless the community of Pala Grande with the same items as Ceibita and at night we will bless them with ice cream and a movie.. Can't wait..

On Wednesday our day will be consumed by the orphanage. I personally can't wait for this one because I have some nice things for them. They are struggling right now and need some encouragement..they are going to love their new DVD player. Thanks so much Kim..

Thursday will be a rest day and tourist day to show my Pastor's wife around Managua.

Friday we will head home.

Please cover us in prayer as we minister to these kids. Today we prayed for a teenager named Acner who has what looks like a tumor on his neck. He goes to the hospital in the morning to get the results of the biopsy. We commanded that lump to go and we expect it to obey. Agree with us that God is the only doctor he will ever need to see.

The  sole reason we are here  is to show these people how much God loves them. Pray this week they will see Jesus through us.

Blessings to all...

Angie

Praise Report and Prayer Request

Today all the kids with Operation Education were sponsored thanks to many wonderful people like yourself. That's my Praise Report.. God is so good. He is always so faithful and takes great care of His kids..

Now for my prayers request. I need to find 9 (or more) Sunday school classes, Woman's groups, Children's ministries or just individuals who would be willing to send a student to college.

Here in the US the dream of college for our kids comes along side the thoughts of how we will be able to afford that. Can you imagine how a set of parents who only make $30 to $50 a month feels when it's time for their child to go off to college? I am sure it's the same thoughts we have just on a different scale.

I met with these students personally and each brought their budget to me. They were prepared  to discuss their needs with me. Two of them sit in the hot sun for 1 1/2 hours waiting on me to finish in a community. I was so proud of them for their dedication.

I know that asking in this economy for $50 a month is a lot so that's why I'm looking for groups of people to come together and as a group change the life and future of a student.

Some suggestions would be?

1. 5 family members paying only $10 a month.

2. A Sunday School class of 50 paying only a $1 a month.

3. A company paying the entire $600.

4. Two best friends paying $25 each a month.

There are so many possible options that can make this happen. It just takes willingness.

Will you help promote this project? Will you tell your Sunday School class? Your family? Others?

I can't do this by myself but together we can change the world one student at a time.

I have watched God do amazing things in my walk and I know it's His will to bless these students. Now I sit and watch him orchestrate His perfect plan. Will you be a part of it?

I would be happy to come and speak with any group that will have me.

Please let me know if you are interested. I can give you more details about each student.

Thanking God for open doors and expecting them to open soon.

Angie

ps. Please share with anyone and everyone

Operation Education Update

The deadline for payment and sponsorship is MONDAY, OCT. 15th. I still have 19 kids that are not sponsored.

Would you consider sponsoring a child for $35 a year. It will be the best investment you can make.

If you have already sponsored a child thank you very much. If you want to send them something for Christmas I will need it on or before the last day of November. Please keep it small because I do not have much space this trip.

I will have an opportunity to send things on a container in January and February so if you would like to send more you can then and I will give it to them in March.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Angie

To sponsor a child;

1. Go to the website and select the child. www.thepowerofoneministry.org/school/2013/index.html

2. Email me with the name.

3. Send a check to The Power of One Ministry, 198 Mellwood Dr., Charlotte, NC  28214. Write the check out to Ambassadors To The Nations if you want a tax deduction, otherwise write it to the ministry.

4. Pray for your child.

Operation Education Reminder

The October 15th deadline will be coming soon and there are 48 kids who still need a sponsor. Please send this email to others in your family who might want to sponsor a child.

I have families who have decided instead of a present this year they want a child sponsored in honor of their relative or themselves.  That's a true sacrifice.

$35 is only giving up Pizza for 1 weekend of the NEXT year or 6 trips to Starbucks throughout the ENTIRE year.

We can waist that money really fast at any Walmart buying things we really don't need if we are not careful. It's a little sacrifice compared to what these families would have to give up.

This community is still only averaging $35 - $50 per month income. To pay for the school supplies and uniform they would have to go without food for the ENTIRE month for just one child.

Please consider making an investment into the lives of these kids. I have seen an amazing transformation over the years in the kids of Ceibita. They have a spark in their eye I didn't see when I first went there and I don't want that flame to burn out. All it takes is one spark from Jesus and a raging fire can burn within them. Help me keep that flame burning.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for these kids to go to school without help.

Will you bless a child this year?

Check out the photos of the kids at www.thepowerofoneministry.org/school/2013/index.htm

If you decide on a child all you have to do is;

1. Email me the child's name so I can remove them from the list.

2. Send your check for $35 to: The Power of One Ministry, 198 Mellwood Drive, Charlotte, NC. Make the check payable to Ambassadors To The Nations to receive a tax deduction. (if you missed previous emails about this and need more info, please call or email me.)

3. Pray for this child and their family. You can also send them notes, letters, birthday cards and small gifts through the school year if you so desire.

It's that easy...1, 2, 3.. and you can change a life forever.

God Bless,

Angie
